buy custom Health Issues at the Clinic essay

buy custom Health Issues at the Clinic essay There are several health issues prevailing at the agency that I observed among clients at the clinic. The majority of students come to the school clinic with the stomachache, little bruises, headache, allergies and especially many cases of asthma occur. I should not that there was no serious illness reported. As I mentioned above, asthma is the most often health issue observed at the clinic; then, it is followed by headache and allergy correspondingly. According to statistics given by the U.S. Center for Disease Control 2010, asthma affects nearly nine million children in the United States of America. It restricts the flow of air into the lungs and affects a childs physical well-being. I saw few cases of asthmatic accidents at school that occurred with children. After the conversation with two students, I got to know that asthma is also impacted by the weather changes. One of the students also proposed the special exercises that should be done to prevent the often asthmatic attacks. However, I suppose that it is very important to provide the good educational programs devoted to asthma attacks, preventing them and what exactly should be done during them. Today, there is a lack of education on these issues at school. Service Evaluation at the Clinic There are the logs of the students screened kept by the nurses. Tese data may be used for the internal (in the purposes of school and medical personnel at school) and external (for the parents, teachers or some committee) evaluation. So for this purpose of evaluation, the nurse is needs to keep the logs of all program events attended by the individual students and the log of the number of students screened during the screening programs.. I should note that due to the lack of education on medical issue at school, students may suffer some inconvenience. Thus, more studies should be provided, especially on the most frequent illnesses as mentioned above (asthma, headache and allergies.). I suppose that much attention should be paid for the students with some learning disabilities. They often miss classes due to feeling inconvenient and being teased by their group mates. The nurse performs a very important part in providing the medical services to students. So nurses should explain to parents or teachers on the illnesses as well; they should follow up whether the parents and teachers know about the illnesses and feel responsibility for the students. Besides, the nurse may propose the follow up programs after the students being few days at the clinic to observe how the student is feeling. Evaluation of nurses at the facility is performed either by principal or nursing supervisor from the Montgomery Public school district office. During this annual exercise, the chart auddit is employed to help assess how the nurse interacts with students and staff members. Much of this information used in her evaluation is solicited from the selected segment of clients. Service Structure Gap The Christiansburg Elementary school Clinic barely provides basic services to address the health care needs of the students and staff members. This school has the two main gaps the lack of the needed service that may be provided and the lack of the medical personnel. Here, the childhood obesity is being a very important problem that is badly addressed. Also, more experts are needed to be hired at this school in order to solve some medical issues and meet the demands of students medical needs. There was the ethical dilemma that I faced while being at this elementary school. Few kids came complaining for the physical injuries that their relatives (a brother or some other member of the family, e.g.) have done to them. These students came to the medical services and begged there to call Social services to inform them of the issues. I am wondering if those people (I mean the medical personnel at school) would call the social services or not. This still remains the big dilemma for me. Or they would investigate the real reason for such students come to their clinic and direct them to the psychologist to have some conversations there. Buy custom Health Issues at the Clinic essay

Macbeth Essays (385 words) - Characters In Macbeth, Free Essays

Macbeth Essays (385 words) - Characters In Macbeth, Free Essays Macbeth Macbeth Essay Consider the following as possibilities and as realities. One man, born high in society of his day, commits murder in order to raise this status and his power even further that he had previously existed. Another, born into the most exalted level of influence and wealth in that same society, and believes that he can tell an individual's true character simply by what he sees in the face. A third person, friend and colleague of the first one also wants greater power, wealth, and glory, not for himself but for his descendants. All the men are part of the of each other's society, in all that the latter term suggest. The wife of the first man is as power-hungry as he is. They have no children. The second man who has two sons, and the third that is blessed with one. These four people blend in a variety of beliefs in fate, God, and the supernatural, beliefs that each of the three men of influence holds dear. Macbeth is presented as a mature man of definitely established character, successful in certain fields of activity and enjoying an enviable reputation. Macbeth possessed everything required to be a good king but instead made a few poor decisions, which caused him to be seen as an evil king. Despite Macbeth's evil he was still an admirable character and possessed redeeming qualities such as his extreme loyalty towards King Duncan. He shows his loyalty by being captain of Duncan's army. Throughout the play we see Macbeth's conscience eat him alive through different forms of hallucinations. During the soliloquy in Act II scene I lines 32-34 Macbeth sees a dagger that he will use to kill Duncan with. The dagger is covered with blood. This shows how his conscience is causing him to think about what he going to do. Another hallucination surfaces after Macbeth has his friend Banquo killed. After Banquo is killed Macbeth goes to sit down at the table where his guests have gathered for the feast. The table is full because he Banquo's ghost is sitting in the last seat. The fact that Macbeth sees Banquo's ghost is another example of how his conscience is pricking at him. He is bringing regret what he has done and realizing the consequences for it.

Thomas Edison Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2250 words

Thomas Edison - Research Paper Example Edison obtained the majority of his educational materials from The Cooper Union, which specialized in supplying higher education materials and instruction for students. Through his education, Edison became interested in various branches of science, which played a role in his later career as an experimenter and inventor. Growing up, Edison held a variety of odd jobs to increase his income. While living in Michigan, he made a modest salary by selling candy and newspapers on the trains that ran through his city. He also sold vegetables to help his family with their expenses. Edison’s first stable job came after he saved a little boy from being hit by a runaway train. The station agent, J.U. MacKenzie, who was also the father of the little boy, was so appreciative of Edison’s actions that he trained Edison to be a telegraph operator. Edison spent many years in this position. When he was nineteen, he moved to Kentucky where he received a boost in his career by being given a job with the Associated Press news wire. During his career on the news wire, Edison made sure that he always received the night shift so that he would be able to work, read, and experiment. However, on one particular night, Edison’s attention on his experimenting ended up costing him his job when a lead-acid battery he was playing with spilled sulfuric acid onto the floor, which then leaked through the floorboards and spilled onto the desk of his boss below. Edison was immediately fired upon arriving at work the following morning. However, despite losing his job, one good thing came from Edison’s time as a telegraph operator. While working, he met Franklin Pope, another telegrapher and an inventor himself. Pope allowed Edison to work out of the basement of his home, which allowed Edison the space he needed for his first two inventions, a stock ticker and the electric vote recorder that was officially patented on June 1, 1869 (Pretzer, 1989). When Edison was twenty-four , he married Mary Stilwell. He met her while she was working at one of his shops. Together they had three children, Marion, Thomas Jr., and William. Mary died thirteen years later from a brain tumor; two years later, Edison married again, this time to Mina Miller, who was almost half of Edison’s age and the daughter of a famous inventor. They also had three children, including Charles and Theodore, both of whom went on to follow in their father’s footsteps as inventors. Mina outlived her husband, dying in 1947 from natural causes. Thomas Edison became most known for his numerous inventions, obtaining over one thousand patents in the United States during his lifetime, as well as many patents in Germany, France, and the United Kingdom. As previously mentioned, among Edison’s first inventions were a stock ticker and an electric vote recorder. He also invented numerous telegraph machines and improved on telegraph machines that had already been invented, such as inve nting the quadruplex telegraph, which made it possible to transmit four messages at once. He also invented the electric pen, which was a device used for copying. However, regardless of these first useful inventions, Edison first became known for his invention of the phonograph in 1877, which is the first record player. Even though the phonograph had very poor sound quality and could only be used a few times, the public was taken back by this surprising, wonderful invention, giving Edison the nickname of the Wizard of Menlo Park. Edison spent a few years perfecting his original phonograph,
